The Brake Control system signals danger if its radar and video sensors perceive too high a speed difference between the 500X and the vehicle in front of it, i.e. a potential collision risk. If the driver fails to act, the system automatically activates the brakes to avoid a collision or at least limit the impact.
"Blind spots" are no longer a problem, as the Blind Assist system checks for the presence of vehicles in critical positions and warns you with a blinking light on the outer rear view mirrors and an acoustic warning. The same thing happens when reversing, if a car approaches from the side.
